YSU falls to Robert Morris on buzzer beater
The Youngstown State men's basketball team fell to Robert Morris, 72-70, Wednesday at Zidian Family Arena.
Kam Woods hit a layup with two seconds remaining to win the game for the Colonials.
The Penguins led for over 14 minutes but weren't able to hold on to the lead. They shot 49% from the field.
The Colonials grabbed 17 offensive rebounds compared to YSU's 9.
"They dominated us on the glass," said Penguins head coach Ethan Faulkner. "17 offensive rebounds. Our biggest key to the game was to keep them off the offensive glass."
"We played defense but the second chance, third chances -- hard to stop a team when they keep getting offensive rebounds," said Penguins guard Juwan Maxey.
Maxey posted 22 for YSU in the loss, while Ty Harper added 15.
Robert Morris had four players in double figures led by Woods with 17.
The Penguins fall to 12-9 overall, 7-4 in conference. They host Penn State Shenango Friday, January 24 at 11 a.m.
