Mercer County Judge Tedd C Nesbit signed off on a settlement agreement that could allow for Sharon Regional Medical Center to become operational soon.

The state of Pennsylvania put forth a motion to approve a settlement agreement regarding a lawsuit that was in the process of being filed against MPT on February 4, 2014.

The motion was uncontested and was signed by Judge Nesbit on Tuesday.

Sharon Regional closed its doors on January 6 after unsuccessfully finding a buyer for the hospital.  Four days later the sale of the hospital to Tenor Health was approved.

This settlement agreement was one of the final obstacles in the way of the hospital reopening.
