Stoneboro man killed in Mercer County crash

State Police in Mercer County say a Stoneboro, Pennsylvania man died when the SUV he was driving failed to stop at an intersection in Fairview Township and was struck by a pickup truck.

According to police, 74-year-old Donald Jones was driving the SUV that rolled past the stop sign on Airport Road Saturday afternoon.

The pickup truck on District Road ran into the side of the SUV, killing Jones and injuring his passenger, 30-year-old Josh Richardson of Fredonia. Richardson was taken to a hospital. The police report doesn’t disclose the severity of his injury.

The pickup truck driver, a Berlin Center, Ohio man, wasn’t hurt.
