YSU snaps two game losing streak in 73-69 win over Green Bay
The Youngstown State University Men's basketball team traveled to play the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay on Sunday afternoon.
Green Bay led the majority of the first half and went into halftime leading YSU 31-29.
The Phoenix extended their lead to nine early in the second half. The Penguins battled back but Green Bay went on another run and led by 11 with less than ten minutes to play.
The Penguins continued to keep up the pressure as they went on a 17-6 run and tied the game at 65 with less than three minutes to play. After that Youngstown State never looked back as they outscored Green Bay 8-4 to close out the game.
YSU completed the comeback and snapped a two game losing streak with a 73-69 win over Green Bay.
Cris Carroll led the Penguins with 24 points. Nico Galette recorded a double-double scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jason Nelson added 11 points and a team-high five assists.
Youngstown State improved to 7-3 in the Horizon League and 12-8 overall.
The Penguins will return home Wednesday, January 22nd to host Robert Morris.
