YSU falls short in 67-61 loss to Robert Morris
The Youngstown State University women's basketball team took a 67-61 loss to Robert Morris University on Saturday afternoon.
YSU was at home for their second straight game hosting Robert Morris.
The Penguins jumped out to a 15-12 lead in the first quarter. Robert Morris went on to retake the lead heading into halftime, 28-24.
The Colonials outscored the Penguins 24-13 in the third quarter and led by 15 heading into the fourth.
Youngstown State had a big 4th quarter as they outscored Robert Morris 24-15. YSU would cut the lead down to five with four minutes to play, but the Colonials held on to defeat the Penguins.
Jewel Watkins had 21 points in the loss and Malia Magestro scored 16.
The Colonials got their first win in Youngstown since 2006 and snapped a five-game losing streak.
YSU fell to 3-6 in the Horizon League and 8-11 overall.
The Penguins will play at Cleveland State next Thursday, January 23rd at 7 p.m.
