Fabric retailer JoAnn warns 661 employees at Hudson, Ohio HQ of possible job loss
Fabric and craft retailer JoAnn has let 661 workers at its Summit County, Ohio headquarters know that they could be unemployed by March if a buyer isn’t found for the company.
A letter from the company has notified the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, about possible separations of 661 employees at JoAnn’s Support Center in Hudson should the office close.
JoAnn, which filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this week, says it is still seeking buyers that will continue operating the company and offer employment to some or all of the employees at its headquarters.
The bankruptcy filing came the same week that JoAnn is closing its Hermitage location.
The company says in a statement that it will continue operating its other stores and website while it undergoes a court-supervised sale process. JoAnn also has stores in Niles and Boardman.
