A woman has been placed on probation and ordered to continue mental health treatment after several dogs and puppies were rescued from her Leavittsburg home which was contaminated with feces and trash.

The sentence was handed down Thursday in Warren Municipal Court to 24-year-old Mackenzie Harvey-Ball of Ruth Ave. NW, after she pleaded guilty to four counts of animal cruelty.  Ten other counts were dismissed.

According to a Facebook post from The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project, two adult male dogs and one underweight adult female dog all underweight and infested with fleas were rescued from the woman’s home in August.

Additionally, two hamsters and a bearded dragon were found dead in the home.

Jason Cooke of Healthy Hearts and Paws said the home was infested with cockroaches.

As a condition of her probation, Harvey-Ball is not permitted own animals.
