Due to the winter weather impacting the region, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has temporarily reduced the speed limit to 45 mph on several interstates in the northwest region Thursday.

Temporary speed limit reductions to 45 mph remain in effect on the following roadways:  

- Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line to Exit 45 (Route 478, St. Petersburg/Emlenton).

- Interstate 79 from Exit 116A (Interstate 80 East, Clarion) to Exit 147A (Route 6/Route 322, Meadville). 

- Interstate 86 from the Interstate 90 interchange to the New York state line.

- Interstate 90 from the Ohio state line to the New York state line.

- Interstate 376 from the Interstate 80 interchange to Exit 2 (Route 18, West Middlesex).

On roadways with speed restrictions, commercial vehicles not affected by restrictions on these or other roadways must move to the right lane.

PennDOT will continue to treat roadways throughout the storm until roads are clear.
