Slick travel from start to finish on Thursday
Accumulating snowfall returns to the valley on Thursday. Light snow will continue through the morning commute as a clipper system moves through the region. This will lead to tricky travel for many throughout the day.
Steady snow will become more scattered for the second half of the day. Snow showers will eventually taper off overnight with total snowfall accumulations of 2-3 inches likely.
High pressure will slide back in on Friday, allowing for a quiet end to the work week. Cloudy skies during the morning will give way to some late-day sunshine with high temperatures in the low 30s. Skies will turn mostly cloudy again Friday night as another storm system approaches the region.
Precipitation will arrive as a period of wet snow early Saturday morning, before mixing with or changing to rain after daybreak. A few lingering snow showers will be possible Saturday night. Colder air will rush back in behind the system, and high temperatures on Sunday will struggle to get out of the low 20s.
The coldest air of the season is on the way for early next week. High temperatures on Monday and Tuesday will struggle to get out of the single digits with wind chills as much as twenty below zero. Mostly cloudy skies on Monday will give way to some inefficient sunshine for Tuesday afternoon.
