Jet Blue to offer daily flight to New York City from Pittsburgh beginning April 30
Regional airline service to New York City is returning after last being offered in Pittsburgh 12 years ago.
Beginning on April 30, Jet Blue will launch daily service from Pittsburgh International to JFK International airport.
The daily flight will be on an Airbus A220-300 aircraft seating up to 140 passengers and will include free high-speed wi-fi, in-flight entertainment, and in-seat power at every row.
The route expansion is part of a Jet Blue adding new cities from its New York and Boston Logan International Airport all set to begin on April 30 ahead of the summer travel season.
The PIT-JFK route will depart from Pittsburgh at 7 a.m. and arrive at JFK at 8:30 a.m. The inbound flight will depart from JFK at 10:15 p.m. and arrive at back in Pittsburgh just before midnight.
“With these new destinations and routes, JetBlue is introducing even more travelers to our industry-leading service, strengthening our position in New York and as the East Coast’s leisure airline,” said Daniel Shurz, JetBlue’s head of revenue, network and enterprise planning. “We’re excited to build on our momentum, offering customers across the Northeast and beyond even more travel opportunities.”
JetBlue will be adding connectivity for travelers leaving Pittsburgh to the Caribbean. According to the press release, bi-directional connections will be offered by JetBlue through JFK to San Juan, Punta Cana, Montego Bay, Aruba, and Nassau, plus Turks and Caicos, Barbados, and St. Kitts.
