State grants $179K for park improvements in Niles, Struthers, Leetonia
A walking path, restrooms, and improved recreation facilities are coming to three Valley communities, thanks to $179,000 in state grants.
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources has announced the latest round of NatureWorks grants designed to improve recreational opportunities for Ohioans.
A $76,635 grant to the City of Niles will be used to rehabilitate two tennis courts and four pickleball courts at Stevens Park.
The city of Struthers is getting $54,319 to build a quarter-mile walking path and parking lot at Nebo Park. The path will be accessible by wheelchairs.
In Columbiana County, a $48,098 grant will be spent on constructing public restroom facilities near the Wurster Memorial Splashpad in Leetonia.
ODNR approved 86 projects in 73 counties.
