Bazetta man set to enter plea in road rage case
A Bazetta Township man charged in a road rage case from February of 2024 is expected to enter a plea in the case on Wednesday afternoon.
According to court records, Brett Budd had been scheduled to go on trial Monday, on charges of felonious assault, discharge of a firearm near a prohibited premise, using weapons while intoxicated and aggravated assault.
However, he will now be appearing in court on Wednesday, January 15 for a plea hearing. Court employees did not know if any of the charges listed above would be amended in light of this plea.
Budd was originally charged in connection with an incident in February of 2024 when police say a pickup truck allegedly driven by Budd drove away after rear-ending another vehicle in Howland.
Police say the driver followed the truck to a home on McCreary Jacoby Road in Bazetta and got out of the car. That's when Budd allegedly pulled out a gun.
According to police, the driver of the car was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the hand.
21 News will update this story once Budd appears in court on Wednesday.
