YSU receives $500,000 donation for Kilcawley 'Centered on the Future' campaign
Youngstown State University has received another donation for the Kilcawley "Centered on the Future" campaign.
According to a press release, the John S. and Doris M. Andrews Memorial Fund donated $500,000 to the campaign, whose goal is to enhance student space's at YSU's Kilcawley Center.
The funds will support the renovation of the second floor lounge, as well as the first floor black box theater. Both spaces will be named in honor of John and Doris Andrews.
YSU President Bill Johnson thanked the Andrews Memorial Fund for its support.
"This substantial gift will significantly enhance the student experience at Kilcawley Center helping to create dynamic spaces where students can gather, collaborate and thrive," Johnson said.
Several other donors have gifted money for this project in the past including the estate of YSU graduate Richard Zarilla, YSU Trustee Joe Kerola and his wife Pam, Premier Bank and more.
The university has actively been raising funds for this project since its announcement in early 2023.
