Sunday will see a brief break from the extreme cold and snow. High temperatures will rise to nearly 30 degrees, which is still below average for this time of year but not nearly as cold as earlier in the week.

Clouds will remain for most of the day, with some sunshine breaks during the midday and afternoon. Skies will turn cloudy after sunset as an area of low-pressure slides across the region.

Snow showers and flurries will be around overnight into early Monday morning. A quick coating is possible before the snow tapers off. Temperatures will fall throughout Monday afternoon, and low temperatures will return to the single digits Monday night.

Tuesday and Wednesday will be the coldest days of the week, with high temperatures only in the upper teens. Chances for lake-effect snow showers and flurries will accompany the arctic blast.

A slight warm-up will arrive to end the work week, with temperatures back in the mid-30s by Friday and Saturday. Rain and snow showers will possibly start the weekend.
