Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that due to ongoing winter weather, speed limits will be restricted on Interstate 80.

From the Ohio State line in Mercer County to Exit 45 in Clarion County, a 45-mph speed limit is in place.

While the speed restriction is in place, commercial vehicles are limited to travel only in the right lane.

PennDOT intends to continue treating roadways until precipitation stops and roads are clear, but the department's primary goal is to keep roads passable.

Travelers looking to get more information on road conditions may do so by visiting the 511PA traveler website.

PennDOT also requests that motorists allow plenty of space when driving near plow trucks, and state that drivers should not attempt to pass a plow truck as it is plowing or treating the roadway.
