Gorant announces new store in New Castle, pop-up shop in Columbiana
Gorant Chocolatier has announced a brand-new store front in New Castle, as well as a pop-up store in Columbiana.
According to a press release, Gorant Candies will be opening a brand-new storefront in New Castle at 2425 New Wilmington Road, as well as a pop-up holiday shop inside Sabi's Restaurant in Columbiana.
Gorant co-owner Bergen Giordani said in a news release that the chocolate company saw a void in the New Castle chocolate market after Jameson Candies closed in 2024.
Giordani went on to say that the pop-up shop in Columbiana will act as a way to "test the market" and see if a year-round store is sustainable in the area. In the meantime, the pop-up market will be open from Valentine's Day through Mother's Day.
The New Castle store will have the same look and feel as the Boardman location and both will offer the chocolate and sweet specialties Gorant is known for.
Co-owner Nico Rubino says the company is committed to honoring the traditions and recipes the Gorant family created 75 years ago and is continuously investing in new technology and equipment to provide high-quality products.
"This increased production capability has allowed us to expand our retail footprint," Rubino said.
Rubino went on to say a "Dessert Bar" is slated to open later this year at the company's Boardman location once the company obtains its final liquor permits.
