Sebring man investigated by the Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Sixty-three-year-old Scott Sargent was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty in October to ten felony counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor. As part of a plea agreement, fifteen other counts were dismissed.

In addition, Sargent has been declared a Tier Two Sex Offender which requires him to register his address with the local sheriff twice a year for 25 years.

Acting on a tip last April, Sebring Police arrested Sargent for having a picture showing a nude child.  The image of the girl, who police say appears to be seven or eight years old, is shown with a man’s hand on her bare leg.

The image was forwarded to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and enabled authorities to get a warrant to search Sargent’s home for computer accessories.

The Ohio Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force is an alliance of city, county, state, and federal law enforcement authorities who arrest and prosecute internet child predators and child pornographers.
