YSU women's hoops fall to Green Bay, 58-50
The Youngstown State University women's basketball team returned home to the Beeghly Center Thursday evening and hosted Green Bay, after two straight games on the road.
The Penguins fell behind in the first quarter as Green Bay led 19-7. YSU slowed things down in the second and went into halftime trailing 30-22.
Both teams traded baskets in the third and Green Bay led by 10 heading into the 4th.
YSU fought in the final quarter but it was too little too late as Green Bay held on to win, 58-50 and handed the Penguins their third straight loss.
Sophia Gregory led the Penguins with 13 points and Erica King added 12 in the loss.
The Penguins moved to 7-9 on the season and 2-4- in the Horizon League. YSU will play at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Wright State.
