Valley Macy's not included in latest wave of closures
Macy's stores in the Valley are not among the latest locations targeted for shutdown.
The department store chain has announced plans to close 66 stores, including two in Ohio and one in Pennsylvania as a part of what executives call a "Bold New Chapter" strategy.
Stores in the Southern Park Mall in Boardman and the Eastwood Mall in Niles are not among those being shut down.
The strategy includes closing a total of 150 stores that the company sees as underproducing to further invest in its 350 go-forward locations.
According to the media release the first 50 stores to have received an investment have boosted their sales and have logged record customer satisfaction scores.
"Customers are already responding positively to better product offerings and elevated service," said Macy's Inc. chairman and chief executive officer Tony Spring.
Below are the stores that will be closing in both Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Ohio
- Fairfield Commons, Beavercreek
- Franklin Park, Toledo
Pennsylvania
