Section of Pine Avenue SE closed in Warren due to apparent flooding, freezing
A Warren roadway is blocked off after an apparent flood that caused water to freeze over.
A 21 News videographer in the area noticed several traffic cones placed on Pine Avenue SE in Warren near the former Trumbull Steel Company site due to what appears to be a flood with the water freezing over.
Police officers in the area told 21 News the area had been this way for about two weeks and said the city is supposed to be addressing the issue. The Warren Operations Department could not be reached for comment at the time of this writing.
Police say they believe the flooding to be due to work being done to turn the former Trumbull Steel Company site into a paper plant.
In 2023, 21 News reported that the former Trumbull Steel Company site was purchased by the Kimberly-Clark company in hopes to create more manufacturing jobs for the area.
