The Village of Newton Falls saw two separate water main breaks Wednesday afternoon.

An employee with the village's utility department tells 21 News crews just finished fixing a water main break on Ridge Road around 3 p.m. We're told there may be some air and dirt in the water, but that should go away if you let your water run for a bit.

No boil alert has been issued as a result of this break.

Crews then moved on to fix a second water main break on South Center Street near Liberty Street. This break was fixed around 4 p.m.

Crews on scene told 21 News they believe the break to have been caused by cold weather causing the pipes to crack. No boil alert is necessary for this break either.
