Efforts are underway to bring a skate park to the City of Youngstown.

Zack Felger with the Youngstown Skate Park Association tells 21 News the association has conducted a survey throughout the city and has seen an overwhelmingly positive response to the idea.

Felger says the skate park would be an addition to one of the city's many parks and that the association has received several suggestions for which park it should be in.

"A big one we've seen requests for is Lincoln Park, which has certainly been forgot about in terms of recreational opportunities, ... Bort's Field, which was in previous conversations, Wick Park, the Wean Foundation Park Downtown among others," Felger said.

The association will son present the results that survey to City Council and the City Parks Director in hopes to move the project forward. From there, they can identify funding sources such as grants or private donations.
