A Boardman man accused of stealing a chicken from his neighbor’s yard has a court hearing scheduled on Tuesday.
Nineteen-year-old Bryce Pavlov of Island Drive was arrested for theft after a woman told police she saw him take a hen from a pen in her backyard and tuck it into his coat.
When she confronted Pavlov, the woman said, “Give me back my chicken!”
The woman, who said six of her chickens had disappeared over the past few months, asked Pavlov if he had “sacrificed” her chickens. The woman said Pavlov admitted to the crimes and begged for her forgiveness, at one point dropping to his knees and hugging the woman.
The woman estimated that the missing chickens were worth about $300.
