Enough snow to makes things slick Monday morning
A powerful winter storm will continue pushing eastward overnight into Monday and snow will continue to add up in parts of the eastern United States. The track of the system is such that our viewing area will miss out on the heavy snow, but up to a couple of inches of snow for the morning commute Monday will make for tricky conditions on Valley roadways. The highest chance for 3 inches or so of snow will be toward East Liverpool; anyone traveling to the Pittsburgh area will encounter higher snowfall totals as well. The snow will taper to flurries as Monday morning wears on.
Snow flurries could return to our area late Monday night and a band of more intense lake-effect snow can't be ruled out Tuesday morning. Otherwise, midweek will bring a continuation of the cold and rather cloudy January weather. The coldest readings should occur Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
A wave of low pressure could produce some modest snow accumulations Friday night into Saturday.
