Winter storm to pass to our south; Impacts for Monday AM commute?
Sunday afternoon will be the quiet before the storm. Temperatures will still be well below average in the low 20s, but it will be dry with a few peeks of sunshine. Skies will turn cloudy again Sunday evening, as our next storm system moves to the south.
Snow will arrive before daybreak Monday morning, leading to impacts for the morning commute. Steady snowfall will continue for a few hours before tapering off around midday. A few flurries will be leftover for the afternoon and evening.
Snowfall totals will increase as you move south. A general 1-3 inches of snow is expected across Columbiana and Mahoning counties, totals that could slightly increase if the storm takes a more northward track. Lesser amounts are expected to the north.
Lake effect flurries will return to the forecast on Tuesday and Wednesday, with frigid conditions continuing. High temperatures will again struggle to get out of the low 20s on Wednesday and Thursday.
Another winter storm will be possible late Friday into Saturday, but details are still uncertain at this time.
