The Office of Catholic Schools for the Diocese of Youngstown has announced the appointment of Jennifer Fischer as the new Associate Superintendent of Schools.
Fischer, previously serving as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction for the Diocese, has been a public school teacher in both South Carolina and Ohio, as well as directing online learning programs in the Perry Local School District and Massillon City Schools. In 2013, Fischer transitioned to the role of Principal at St. Mary's Catholic School in Massillon, where she served for nine years before joining the diocesan office.
In her new position, Fischer will retain oversight of all state and federal programs within the diocesan schools. Additionally, she will assume responsibility for student life, personnel matters, and compliance issues.
Fischer assumed her new role on Thursday.
The Diocese of Youngstown is also searching to fill the newly created Director of Continuous Improvement position, which will encompass curriculum development and instruction responsibilities.
