Dr. Bryan Hambley of Warren County, Ohio has announced his campaign to run for Ohio Secretary of State.
On his Facebook page, Hambley explained why a doctor would want to run for public office, stating, "I am running because I care about Ohio, and I have seen my patients and our communities suffer from a broken and gerrymandered democracy."
Hambley is a Hematology Oncologist specializing in blood cancer and leukemia at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
The media release states that Hambley has organized communites to fight against pharmaceutical companies using their money to buy influence in hospitals and has been involved in activism and organizing since he was a child.
Hambley's issues include making fair and competitive districts, making sure the ballot initiatives are fair and not written in an obtuse manner, engaging Ohians in voting and making every one of those votes count.
According to the media release Hambley plans on traveling all throughout Ohio to meet Ohioans and hear them out on what the state needs.
The Secretary of State role is a four-year term and will be on the ballot in 2026.
