The Service Plaza along the westbound lanes of the Ohio Turnpike is open again in Portage County after being closed early Thursday for a bomb threat.

State Troopers say they evacuated the plaza shortly after becoming aware of the phone threat just after midnight.

Patrol cruisers and a turnpike plow truck blocked the entrance to the plaza while the Garrettsville Fire Department and Portage County Sheriff's Deputies were also dispatched.

Bomb-sniffing K-9 from the Youngstown Police Department helped search the plaza and found no evidence of a bomb.  The plaza opened again just before 3 a.m.

21 News is working to find out if the Ohio State Highway Patrol learned anything about the source of the threat.
