New hope may have come just in time for Sharon Regional Medical Center only six days before the hospital was set to close.

The president of the Sharon Regional Board, Bob Rogalski, alerted 21 News that the CEO of Tenor Health Partners, Radha Savitala, and Medical Properties Trust (MPT) came to an agreement in principle.

Tenor Health Partners would assume operations of Sharon Regional, but details still have to be finalized in bankruptcy court.

Rogalski says that he is awaiting more information.

There have been other potential buyers of Sharon Regional, including a Mercer County doctor who is offering resources to help save the hospital.

Yates Medical Group CEO Benjamin Yates has also shown interest in the hospital since June of this year. The only thing stopping Yates has been a license to operate the property. He is currently awaiting approval from the Attorney General's office.

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates as more information becomes available.
