Two men in court on charges in connection with robbery of store in Columbiana
Two men were in court to answer for their charges in connection with a robbery that occurred at a store in the 900 Block of Columbiana-Canfield Road on December 28.
Kenneth Littlejohn, 36, and Trey Bell, 30, were caught and arrested by the Beaver Police Department at a motel in North Lima after the Columbiana Police Department alerted that a "ping" on stolen electronics was stationary at the motel.
Bell is being held on a $25,000 bond, and he is to have no contact with the store or the employee working at the time.
If Bell does post bond, he would have to be placed on house arrest with an electronic monitor.
Littlejohn is being held on a $4,000 bond.
They are now set to appear in court again January 3 at 10 a.m. for a hearing.
Littlejohn was charged with receiving stolen property (F4) and possessing criminal tools (F5) by Beaver Police.
Bell was charged with aggravated robbery (F1), kidnapping (F2) from Columbiana Police, obstructing official business (M2), receiving stolen property (F4) and possessing criminal tools (F5) from Beaver Police.
Both men were arraigned December 31 at 4 p.m.
Officers that responded to the motel set up a stage to successfully and safely capture the two men. An officer with Beaver Police shouted over a cruiser loud speaker for the men to "exit the room with their hands visible".
Police say Littlejohn willingly exited the motel where he spoke briefly with officers before being put into a cruiser, while Bell attempted to exit the motel from the rear of the building where he was captured by Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers.
Police say a bag that Bell was carrying contained over 20 new electronics still in the box.
According to the report, a sweep of the room that the two men were staying in revealed a large pile of boxed iPhones, smart watches and other electronics dumped onto the carpet.
