Police in Warren are investigating after an employee at an area Dollar General store said he was robbed at gunpoint Sunday night.

Police were called to the store on Niles Road SE just after 10:30 p.m. and spoke with an employee who told officers the suspect, described as a Black male wearing a dark jacket and pants came into the store to purchase a bottle of soda.

Police say when the employee was in the process of completing the transaction, the suspect pulled out a revolver, pointed it at him and demanded all the money in the cash register.

The employee told police he took the drawer off the cash register and put it on the counter and the suspect took all the money inside. Police say there was about $500 inside the register.

No arrests have been made at this time.
