After just two years in business, the Hot Dog Shoppe's Boardman location has announced it will be closing permanently.

This news was revealed in a post on the restaurant's Instagram page stating the restaurant is closed permanently as of Monday, December 30. The post did not reveal exactly why the restaurant is closing, but thanked customers for their support.

The Boardman location opened back in October of 2022. A sign on the building says the location is now up for sale or lease.

The post went on to say the restaurant's Girard location is still open, so customers can still get their hot dog fix there.

Hot Dog Shoppe also has a location in Warren. It is unclear whether or not that location or any others are expected to close at this time.

21 News has reached out to the owner of the restaurant about the reason for the closure and the status of the other locations and we're waiting to hear back.
