Valley native former NFL official Dick Creed passes away

Struthers graduate and long time NFL official Dick Creed passed away Saturday morning.

He celebrated his 92nd birthday the day after Christmas.

Creed worked as a  side judge, back judge and field judge for 21 NFL seasons from 1978 through 1998.  He then became a replay official for 13 years, 1999-2010,

Creed worked two Super Bowls (XXVI & XXX) and helped many local officials at all levels over their careers.

In 2012 he was presented the Art McNally Award given to a NFL game official who exhibits exemplary professionalism , leadership and commitment to sportsmanship on and off the field.
