Police in Warren suspect arson to be the cause of a fire that totaled a home in the city on Christmas Day.

According to a police report, officers were called to a home on the 2400 Block of Oak Street SW shortly after 3 a.m. Christmas Day for a structure fire. The Warren Fire Department was able to put out the fire.

Police say the house is uninhabited, but the owner was renovating it. The house was deemed a total loss and has since been boarded up.

The full extent of the damage can be seen in the picture above.

The report classifies the incident as arson but states that the Ohio State Fire Marshal will be at the scene on Thursday, December 26, to investigate the fire.

Police say the neighbor had a Ring doorbell camera but could not capture any footage of the alleged incident. No arrests have been made at this time.
