Alcon Laboratories has issued a recall on certain eye drops due to a fungal contamination.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Alcon Laboratories is recalling one lot of its Systane Lubricant Eye Drops Ultra PF, Single Vials On-the-Go eye drops due to a complaint of a foreign matter, which turned out to be fungal in nature.

Use of the contaminated eye drops could result in eye infections, which could be vision-threatening and even life-threatening for some who are immunocompromised.

No infections related to the recalled products have been reported as of this writing.

The recalled eye drops (pictured below) came in a pack of 25 with the lot number of 10101 and expiration date of September of 2025. They were sold in stores across the country, as well as online.

 

If you have purchased a recalled product, you're asked not to use it and instead return it to the place of purchase for a replacement or a refund.

If you've already used the recalled product and have health concerns, you're asked to contact your physician or health care provider.
