The Ontario Hockey League wants to add a couple of more teams including the Youngstown Phantoms but USA Hockey has denied the request.

Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported the OHL is willing to accept the Phantoms and Muskegon from the USHL but USA Hockey hasn't approved the transfer.

Freidman writes  "it's in limbo and don't know where its going to go."

The OHL has three teams in the United States, including Erie, Pennsylvania, Flint & Saginaw Michigan, along with 17 others in Ontario, Canada.

The OHL is for players aged 16-20.
