Hubbard officers arrest juveniles allegedly tied to car thefts
Hubbard Police arrested two juveniles on Monday in connection with a car that was reported stolen.
Officers spotted the two juveniles on the 600 Block of Wendemere Drive, a few blocks from where the stolen vehicle was recovered. The two were arrested for curfew, possession of criminal tools and criminal trespass.
Police say additional charges could be pending.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations (BCI) is processing evidence from past car thefts and break-ins in Hubbard to determine whether these two are tied to any of those other thefts.
Hubbard Police Chief Robert Thompson spoke last month on the spike in break-ins and thefts regarding vehicles. Thompson said that when it comes to thefts and break-ins there is "typically you'll see an uptick around the holiday season."
Thompson offered some tips to prevent your car and belongings from getting stolen, from locking your car doors and taking any valuables out of the vehicle to leaving your porch lights on at night.
