Niles near the Eastwood Mall Complex lost electrical power on Monday morning. All power was restored just before 12:30 pm on the last full shopping day before Christmas.

The mall confirmed it had some interior stores without power and some of the outer plazas in the Eastwood Mall complex including Kohl's, TJ Maxx, HomeGoods and Meijers were without power as well.

The outage extended along State Route 46 just south of State Route 82.

The good news is that power has been restored, and the stores in the Eastwood Mall will be open until 10 pm Monday.

The mayor's office confirmed the outage but did not know the scale of the outage as of 10:45 am.

21 News has left messages with the Niles Electric Department to get additional information and an estimated restoration.

In a push alert from the Eastwood Mall facility called the outage "a large power outage. The City Of Niles is working on getting power restored."

21 News will update the story when more information becomes available. Remember to treat all traffic signals out as four-way stops until power is restored.

Niles owns and operates their own electrical department and purchases electricity through AMP Ohio.
