ACTION of Mahoning Valley director, organizer resigns after 15 years of service
ACTION (Alliance for Congregational Transformation Influencing Our Neighborhoods) of the Mahoning Valley Director and Organizer Rose Carter has resigned from her position after 15 years of service.
According to a press release, Carter's time with ACTION began in December of 2008, beginning as a member of Union Baptist Church where she sang in the community choir for ACTION's first public meeting at Youngstown State University.
Just two years later, she was given the role of director and organizer for the organization.
"Throughout this time, I have witnessed significant changes in our communities and across the nation. However, the need for professional organizers remains as urgent as ever. As of December 20, 2024, I will step down from my position as Director/Organizer," Carter said in the release.
Carter went on to say in order to ensure a smooth transition, she will work closely with the organizations new director and organizer during the transition period and will continue to stand by ACTION's vision.
ACTION of the Mahoning Valley is the organization behind the Mahoning Valley Mobile Market, which acts as a source of affordable fresh produce for those in need in the Valley.
