A Youngstown man has been sentenced to spend 23 years to life in prison for the August 2021 murders of Ayanna Mills and Brandon Bell.
The two were shot and killed in their home at 1213 Salt Springs Rd. in Youngstown.
Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge John Durkin handed the sentence down to Jabrae Perry on Wednesday, who pleaded guilty to aggravated murder and murder.
The death penalty was taken off the table for Perry, due to what the defense described as a "serious mental illness," schizoaffective disorder.
Perry had been scheduled to go on trial in February.
