Mercy Health - St. Joseph Warren Hospital was placed on temporary lockdown around 11 a.m. on Wednesday. It has since lifted the lockdown.

A caller told 21 News they could not access the facility and that the hospital was on lockdown.

21 News reached out to Warren Police but no reports on St. Joseph had come in at that time.

Mercy Health issued a statement about the lockdown: "The safety, security, and well-being of our patients, visitors, and our employees are our top priority. Today, Mercy Health - St. Joseph Warren Hospital was placed on a temporary lockdown out of an abundance of caution. This is a routine hospital policy and procedure, and the lockdown has since been lifted."

21 News reached out to a Mercy Health spokesperson for the meaning of this lockdown but they declined to provide a reason and referred back to the statement.
