Youngstown man was arrested by Youngstown Police Department (YPD) at approximately 11:30 p.m. on December 16. 

Steven Watters, 46, has been charged with receiving stolen property, possession of drugs (Schedule I or II substance), unauthorized use of a vehicle (F5) and drug paraphernalia offenses.

According to the police report, YPD Officer Wess received information about a stolen Kia Sorento that was reported by the Salem Police Department driving East on Mahoning Avenue. 

The driver, Watters, allegedly did not know that the car was stolen according to the report. 

Upon investigating the car, officers found a used glass crack pipe in the driver's side door pocket.

When investigating Watters' person, a small bindle of white powder was found in his back pocket. When asked about what the substance was, Watters stated that it was fentanyl. 

Watters was arrested and transported to Mahoning County Jail.

Watters is due in Youngstown Municipal Court on December 18 at 1:30 pm for arraignment on the charges.

Watters has a sentencing hearing scheduled for May 2025 in relation to prior charges of aggravated possession of drugs, aggravated trafficking in drugs, possession of a fentanyl-related compound and possession of drug paraphernalia.
