During a Monday night meeting, Trustee Mike Haddle laid out several scenarios that would help them get the township out of debt in the next few years.

Haddle told 21 News that there is a highly favorable option that they are looking into.

"Best case scenario is we pass a new fire levy, one mill increase, and traffic cameras [would] stay for three to four years. Then we could be out of fiscal emergency by 2027," Haddle said.

In July the Ohio Auditor Keith Faber declared the township a fiscal emergency after funds were reported missing earlier in the year.

Trustees said the township's deficit balance is around $1 million and they have about $485,000 in unpaid bills.

After the meeting, Haddle told 21 News that getting rid of traffic cameras and not passing a new fire levy could become a setback for the township.

"The worst case scenario is the township does not pass a new fire levy, new trustees get voted in, and they get rid of the traffic camera program, [then] the township will be in fiscal emergency past 2028, " Haddle said.
