The Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Youngstown held a screening of "Dreaming of a Jewish Christmas" on Sunday presented by the Youngstown Area Jewish Film Festival.

The film is a musical documentary that tells the story of a group of Jewish songwriters who wrote some of the most famous songs of the Christmas season like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire and Winter Wonderland.

Youngstown Area Jewish Federation Director of Cultural Arts & Jewish Engagement Barbara Wilson tells 21 News the goal of this event is to bring people together in a time of division during the holiday season.

"I think a lot of times there is a lot of division at this time of year for if you celebrate Christmas, if you celebrate Hanukkah [or] if you celebrate something else. I think that we're more alike and we're more supportive of each other than most people realize," Wilson said.

The film kicked off at 11 a.m. and the event will last until 1 p.m. Guests were also treated to a vegetarian Chinese food meal.
