YSU men's basketball defeats Toledo, 93-87
The Youngstown State University men's basketball team welcomed Toledo to the Beeghly Center on Saturday afternoon.
Both teams traded baskets throughout the first half. The Penguins led by as many as 11 before the Rockets came back and cut it down to five before halftime, as YSU led 44-39.
YSU jumped back out to a 12 point lead in the second half. Toledo battled back and took the lead with less than eleven minutes to play.
A little over two minutes later, the Penguin's responded and retook the lead as they never allowed the Rockets to tie the game again.
YSU went on to win their fourth straight game, 93-87 the final. The Penguins had five players score in double figures.
EJ Farmer led the team with 20 points. Nico Galette had a double-double as he scored 17 points, 11 rebounds and led the team with seven assists.
Juwan Maxey scored 16 and Jason Nelson added 13. Gabe Dynes also had 12 points and nine blocks, third most in school history in a single game.
Youngstown State improved to 6-5 on the season. They will play at Wright State on December 18th at 7 p.m.
