Traffic backups are so bad because of crashes along I-80 in Mercer County, the eastbound interchange from 7-11 to 80 has been shut down in Ohio.

Traffic was backed up into Ohio as PennDOT reported that portions of I-80 are closed due to several accidents. Traffic cams shows backed up traffic along the interstate.

I-80 westbound is closed from Exit 15 (Route 19, Mercer) to the Ohio state line and I-80 eastbound is closed from the Ohio state line to Exit 4A (Route 760, Sharon) as police continue clean-up crashes involving tractor-trailers.

Due to the severity of the winter weather, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reduced the speed limit to 45 mph on the following highways.

Interstate 79 from the Interstate 80 interchange in Mercer County to Exit 154 (Route 198, Conneautville/Saegertown in Crawford County and Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line in Mercer County to Exit 42 (Route 38, Emlenton) in Venango County.

While the speed restriction is in place, commercial vehicles can only travel in the right lane.
