Night court launching at Warren Municipal Court in 2025
Starting next year, a night court will be coming to Warren.
Warren Municipal Court, the city's law department and the public defenders office have been discussing bringing a night court to the city for some time, and are launching it in January 2025.
The evening hours will help accommodate people who are unable to make it to court during the traditional 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. hours.
Warren Municipal Court Judge Patty Leopardi Knepp says that after listening to the concerns of people during her time in private practice, and now while sitting on the bench, she realized that a night court is needed to help accommodate people in the city.
"It's a necessity, so many people have other work obligations, family or relative obligations that they just can't make it to court during the traditional hours," said Judge Leopardi Knepp.
Night court will be held once a week on Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
