Primetals Technologies to donate $2,000 to Trumbull County Technical Center
Primetals Technologies announces a $2,000 donation to the Trumbull County Technical Center (TCTC).
The money donated will help support the school's new Industrial Technology program to help teach students the skills required to work within the manufacturing industry.
"This donation helps us equip our students with the tools they need to succeed in advanced manufacturing careers," said TCTC High School Director, Paula Baco. "We are grateful for Primetals' support and commitment to the future of our students and the region's workforce."
Primetals Technologies is a company specializing in the supply, engineering and construction of metal plants. The company has locations locally in Warren and Cortland.
The Industry Technology program is currently in its first year of operation. The program aims to give students hands-on experience working in manufacturing and using equipment like pneumatics, robotics, and hydraulics.
The program was introduced in response to input from local business and industry leaders like the Mahoning Valley Manufacturers Coalition recognizing the need for training programs in the manufacturing field within schools.
Primetals Technologies states that donations like the one made to TCTC are part of its mission to advance the entire metallurgical value chain and invest in the development of skilled workers.
"At Primetals, we recognize the importance of developing a skilled workforce, and we are proud to contribute to TCTC's Industrial Technology program," said Director U.S. Metallurgical Services, Timothy Drummond.
