Former Canfield IGA plaza undergoing massive renovation, looks for spring opening
Big changes are taking place to a former plaza that has been vacant for more than 12 years.
The owner of the plaza that used to house the Canfield IGA grocery store said the building is undergoing interior and exterior changes, including a new roof and repaving to the parking area.
The plaza can hold up to 6 to 7 retailers and is now in the leasing phase, with interior and exterior work to be completed before March, and the goal is to have retailers in those new buildings by spring.
Anyone wishing to lease a retail space should contact Don Thomas with Platz Realty at 330-757-4889.
According to the Mahoning County Auditor, the plaza is owned by IGP Peninsula Properties LLC and was built in 1966. IGP purchased the building in May of 2023 for $425,000.
