Volunteers with Toys for Tots were quite busy Saturday morning sorting about 30,000 toys in Austintown.

Sort coordinator Ken Jakubec tells 21 News volunteers came from across the Mahoning Valley with some even coming from up to 110 miles away to sort toys picked up from over 200 dropoff locations.

"All the toys are collected from the dropoff places, they come here and we sort them by gender and age group. We just sorted 30,000 toys today and all the boxes are staged in different areas by their age groups," Jakubec said.

Among those toys were over 300 brand-new bicycles courtesy of Shots for Tots, a non-profit that raises money to purchase bicycles for those in need. Several more bicycle donations came in from A to Z Plumbing, Huntington Bank and members of the community.

Jakubec says following the sorting process, the United States Marine Corps will pull the boxes corresponding to orders from charities and deliver them.
